Youtubesday:Don't you remember you told me you'd feed me bacon? Girl you know it, girl you know it.

My best friend Meredith is moving to New York at the end of this week. And I'm going to miss her tons, but I'm excited because

a) She gets to do an awesome internship with a great company,

b) I get to visit her in October and

c) She comes back in December for her graduation and Christmas.

Anyway, these videos represent 13 years of friendship and just a few of our ridiculous inside jokes.

I can't tell you how many times we have laughed about this moment. There's something so ridiculous about it. Mer will always be the Milli to my Vanilli.

I heart Karen Carpenter. So does Mer. She has the most amazing voice. And she played the drums (although she didn't in this video). She may have died of anorexia, but we've managed to turn this into a song about food. "Don't you remember you told me you'd feed me bacon? You said you be making breakfast and feeding me bacon. Bacon, bacon, bacon, bacon, oh bacon. I love you. I really do." Doesn't that make you hungry?

For the history on our love of Michael McDonald, please see this or this . "Ya Mo Be There" is an all time fave, if only for the ridiculous title.

Amelia Earhart flew a lot of airplanes except for that one time when she didn't come back...and then there's Maude.

Have a great day!

YouTubesday: A Very Potter Musical

This just makes me happier than a tornado in a trailer park. I love me some Harry Potter and I love musicals. This must have taken a lot of rehearsal hours, but it was well worth it. Check it out:

There's tons more where that came from so click on the video if you want to check the rest out. And now, if you haven't seen this wedding video yet, check it out:

My sister is getting married in December, and this video made us both laugh and then cry. And I think she should make us all learn a dance to perform at some point during her wedding. It's only fair-I made her read a poem at my wedding.
Meredith--for your consideration:

I think we could make it work.
Have a great day!

Just another New Moon Monday

My heart is full. I have now seen the footage from Comic-Con and even the 2 previews that were shared. Here are a few of my favorite videos from the panel discussion--you can go into YouTube and watch the whole conference at that user's page.

I love Ashley Greene so much. She just radiates Alice-ness. And Chris Weitz is just made of awesome. I wish they would have him direct Breaking Dawn. Here's a piece of trivia for you: Lupita Tovar , who starred in the original Spanish-language version of Dracula is Chris Weitz's grandmother. He was destined to direct one of these movies.

Here are the two previews that were shown from the movie (protect your ears: major screaming going on here):

Man, they are working those abs for all they are worth, huh? While the dialogue was cheesy in parts, the majority of it was directly from the book, so it's completely understandable. I kind of loved the bike scene and I'm THRILLED with the way that Edward's presence is portrayed. I never thought it would look that good. I'm hoping that the scene with Alice and Bella in the Porsche looks less rushed and cartoonish in the context of the movie. Overall, I'm thrilled with the overall look of this movie when compared with the first one.

Any thoughts? I can't wait for November!

Have a great day!

Youtubesday: Nirvana vs Rick Astley - Never Gonna Give Your Teen Spirit up

Whoever did this a genius. I can't imagine how they even came up with the idea. You must stop whatever you are doing and watch this immediately.
Rick Astley + Nirvana = a winning combination.
Have a great day!

Listen to This: My Current Playlist

Don't you just love music? I love buying new music and listening to it over and over until I know every word. I love listening to old song that bring back good memories. I love listening to music in general. Here are some of the songs that are getting a lot of play on my iPod right now.
1) "Old Enough" by The Raconteurs featuring Ricky Skaggs and Ashley Monroe.
Love this. Jack White is such a weirdo but I totally love him. I love that he uses his status as a "rock star" to bring attention to bluegrass and country music and great musicians like Ricky Skaggs and Loretta Lynn. I'm sure there are some people who have been introduced to these wonderful genres because of him and that's an awesome thing.
2) "Fans" by Kings of Leon

They are just amazing. One of my favorite bands. I must see them play soon. Nothing like a family band. This is one of my favorite songs by them.
3) "King of the Rodeo" by Kings of Leon

I love this song so much it hurts. If you like it as much as I do, you should check out the actual music video
here. It's made of awesome, but unfortunately, it's not embeddable.
4) "Farewell" by Rosie Thomas

This song kills me. So beautiful and heartbreaking. Her voice has so much depth. Lovely.
5) "Blue Ridge Mountains" by Fleet Foxes

My happy music. So good. The harmonies are amazing and the song just sounds timeless; it kind of reminds me of Bread or the Allman Bros. Listen to this whole video if you have time, but if not, skip to 2:34 to listen to the song.
6) "Jackie Wilson Said" by Van Morrison

More happy music. It just doesn't get much better than Van Morrison. By far the best music in the world to dance to.
What are you listening to right now? I love discovering new music, and there's no better way to discover a new artist than a recommendation from a friend or blog reader.
Have a great day!

Youtubesday: What the Buck

OMG, I can't believe I haven't talked about What the Buck yet. I love this guy.

I swear on my life, that is what my brain is like all the time. Ideas bouncing around so fast that my mouth can barely keep up. Only in my head, I'm way less funny than Buck.

Have a great day!

Edward Cullen+REO Speedwagon=heaping spoonfull of awesome

The only thing better than when he plays the guitar made of a car key and string is the random unicorn at the end. Best fan-made video ever.

Youtubesday: Facercise

Michael K recently introduced me to Carol Maggio who is the creator of Facercise (she served as his Hot Slut Of The Day! last Wednesday). This is a video from Everything is Terrible of Carol showing her exercise technique.

This is amazing. I can't believe this exists. Even more shocking is that the "rich and famous" are paying thousands of dollars for her to teach them this shit. Not only that, she appeared on "Geraldo" and the "Mike & Matty Show." OMG, I loved that show. And the theme song (does anybody else remember it? Call me if you would like me to sing it to you. Too bad I'm not able to find any videos on YouTube of that show. But rest assured, I will be singing the theme song to myself for the rest of the day.

Austinites: What do you think the chances are that Carol is related to Judy Maggio? I think it is likely they are sisters, or at least cousins. No wonder Judy's face is in such good shape.

Have a great day!

Youtubesday: Emo Kid is throwing Slow-Mo Dove at my face

It's very likely that you've already seen this video or one of the other Literal 80's videos. But if you haven't seen this one yet, you should watch it as it is the best of the bunch.

I could watch this on repeat all day.
RPattz update:
First, the bad news: the Twihards went effing crazy in NYC yesterday and attacked him on the street when he was in between filming scenes of his new movie Remember Me. Here's the video.

Bitches are crazy. Poor Bert. I wouldn't blame him if he became a hermit after all of this Twilight stuff is over with. Second piece of bad news: Tombert will not be starring in this movie together. The part of Aidan will be played by this guy:

Not bad, but not how I pictured him. Because I'm a dork I pictured Kellan Lutz the whole time I read the script. I was thrilled at the idea of Tom playing Aidan, even though it was quite a switch. This actor is reportedly named Tate Ellington. Check out his IMDB here.
The good news: Lot of pics of Rob looking happy and healthy.
Apparently they decided to just let Rob wear his own clothes to play Tyler. Either that or the costume department isn't very creative.

Have a great day!

Elle Bunny

Youtubesday: The Brit Pack

There are a group of musicians that have become very popular over the last 6 months because they are friends of Rob Pattinson. There's Sam Bradley, who cowrote "Never Think" with Rob and became friends with him when they were 12 and Rob was the new kid in school. Here's a video of Sam singing "Too Far Gone (Never Think)".

Pretty amazing, no? Then there's Bobby Long, who co-wrote "Let Me Sign". He's got two songs on iTunes and he's pretty amazing. Here's a video of him singing one of those singles, "Left to Lie" (this video also features an interview)

And finally, the other co-writer of "Let Me Sign", Marcus Foster, who is my favorite member of the Brit Pack (barring RPattz, of course). Even if you aren't a fan of Twilight, if you are a fan of music, you should check this out. It's really beautiful.

Bobby Long and Marcus Foster are coming to Austin in August. I think I might spontaneously combust, I'm so excited. They are really great musicians, and I'm glad that they are being noticed. Even if they are initially noted because of their association with Rob, they each have the talent to carry them far in the music industry (as does Rob, if he ever wanted to pursue the whole music thing). I will end with a video of him improvising on the piano (this is from the Twilight DVD).

Have a great day!

Youtubesday: So You Think You Can Dance: Forks Style

This combines two of my favorite things-Twilight and the ridiculousity that is "So You Think You Can Dance."

This video slays me. Pun intended.

If you have some free time today you should go here and check out some of the videos of the cast of Twilight backstage at the MTV Movie Awards. Here's my favorite:

Oh, and this video was made of awesome:

I hereby nominate Andy Samberg for permanent host of the MTV Movie Awards.

Have a great day!

Youtubesday: My 2nd Wedding Anniversary

Corey (aka Mr. Bunny) and I got married two years ago today. Our first dance was to this song:

Don't you just love Al Green? This has always been our song, and it is the song for a million other couples, but there's a reason for that. Every word rings true. We're surrounded by couples that break up and make up; divorces abound. Even in the best of relationships, life can sometimes get in the way of realizing how lucky you are to have found one another. But, corny as it might sound, I can honestly say that Corey always makes me feel brand new. And I look forward to the next 200 years together (it's possible--somewhere along the way we plan on becoming vampires; if that doesn't work out, I'll be looking into having us cryogenically frozen in a lucid dream state a la Vanilla Sky).

I think it is important to focus on that love and make it a priority to stay together. Every year I'm with Corey, my life gets better and better. We both encourage each other to try new things and pursue our dreams. I believe in him and he believes in me.

In closing, I apologize if all of this gushing about how in love I am has made you want to hurl. What can I say, I'm a hopeless romantic. I can't believe Corey and I have been married for two years. I still feel like a newlywed who just got married two or three months ago.

Have a great day and Happy Anniversary Mr. Bunny!

Elle Bunny

Youtubesday: Play him off, keyboard cat!!!

If you haven't seen this yet, then let me introduce you to my friend Keyboard Cat.

Charming fellow, isn't he? This song has been in my dreams several nights of the last few weeks.

It also haunts many an episode of Golden Girls ever since I saw this video.

Bobby Bones even made it to his website (who knew?). This=epic fail.

Did you know that Chuck Norris destroyed the periodic table because he can only recognize the element of surprise? (that's all I've got).

Sometimes I wish Keyboard Cat was around to play me off when I trip and fall trying to get up from my desk at work. Or yesterday, after a long day at work, when I went to a cake tasting with my sister and her fiance and my mom. We were talking about cake design and I said that they should use a mammogram when I really meant Monogram. In my head, I hear the Keyboard Cat music.

One final thought: I think Keyboard Cat and Spaghetti Cat should get married and have keyboard-playing, spaghetti-eating kittens. Don't you agree?

Have a great day!

Youtubesday: Then came the day...

If you're not watching Skins yet, surely this is reason enough to check it out. I've been watching the second season and it is even better than the first. Here is a clip of Michelle and Maxxie working on a play for school called "Osama: The Musical."

This song has been all my husband and I have been singing for the last week. It is so completely ridiculous and just a small taste of the sardonic wit featured in the show. But more than that, this show has such great acting and they are always pushing their characters in new powerful directions. The relationships the kids have with each other and with their parents is so real and heart wrenching, it's just outstanding.

And the accents! This show is so great and it makes me so sad that I'm going to be caught up on watching it soon.

I recommend you check this show out ASAP!

Have a great day!

Elle Bunny

YouTubesday: The James Franco Edition

Today is YouTubesday. James Franco recently trashed a room for Wholpin.

According to their website, "Wholphin is a quarterly DVD magazine from McSweeney's, lovingly encoded with unique and ponderable films designed to make you feel the way we felt when we learned that dolphins and whales sometimes, you know, do it."

Thank you Wolphin. This video is made of awesome and did leave me pondering it for awhile afterward--as did your interesting name.

And I know I've been talking about it frequently lately, but I'm in awe of James Franco. I want to have him over to my house for Thanksgiving Dinner. He can talk about the book he's writing and wear his Allen Ginsberg glasses. I'm sure he would love my cornbread dressing and pecan pie.
I just need to learn how to make pecan pie.

Have a great day!

Elle Bunny
